Boen is a concentrated detergent in the form of a leaf. Add it to your washing machine in the same way you add a dishwashing tablet to your dishwasher: it fully dissolves during the cycle. Liquid detergent consists for over 90% of water. By only selling the active ingredient of detergent and not the water, we reduce transport CO2 emissions by 90%. And: no more need for plastic packaging.

Universal detergent?
Yes, it’s a universal, mild detergent. You can always add a whitener (like soda, or oxy action) when washing your white sheets. But in general, it works for everything.
Vegan and cruelty-free?
Also! All ingredients are plant-based and not tested on animals.
What does it smell like?
Fresh floral. The smell is not overpowering after washing.
How product is made
The laundry leaves are made as if liquid detergent if pulled through a paper making machine: the water is taken out, and what is left is a concentrated ‘paper’, made up of very concentrated detergent. By selling only the active ingredients and not the water, we no longer have to transport the water (90%) from the factory to here, and we no longer need a plastic packaging.
Boen is currently produced in China. Similar to all of our competitors. Because they are good, easy to work with, and most importantly: they are the only ones (except for 1 factory in Canada) that can make these laundry sheets. We have seen the inside of the factory, and they maintain high quality standards. In addition to these advantages, it also has disadvantages: it is far away, and therefore emits a lot of CO2 during transport here. Ultimately, we want to move production to Europe. Without overpromising, we expect to do so in 2024.
Our perfume is custom made in Switzerland.
How to use
Dosage:
- 1 strip = 1 normal wash (3 – 6 kg, full drum)
- ½ strip = small laundry (1-3kg, half full drum)
- 2 strips = large wash (6-9kg, XL drum, extra dirty textiles)
