How product is made

The process: 1. Harvest the Natural Fiber Our products are made from 100% wild hemp. Once the hemp is harvested, it is boiled to remove the outer layers. The hemp is then beaten to obtain its fibers. The fibers are collected to move on to the threading process.
We also work with organic cotton fibers where the process of cultivation, harvesting, production and treatment is carried out by controlled organic farming. 2. Weaving the Fabric: Handloom 3. Natural Dyes: It is an artisanal, magical process, something that synthetic alternatives do not offer. In addition to caring for the environment, it is a way to express creativity and connect with nature. 4. Product Packaging: We use many handcrafted techniques to finish our products: embroidery, crochet, blockprint, macramé… Making up is the last step in the chain.

Sustainability

Hemp, the most regenerative plant on the planet, is the main source of most of our tissues. It absorbs CO2 like no other plant and regenerates the soil substrate. It is much more resilient and efficient than cotton and needs 10 times less water. As if that wasn’t enough, the hemp plant needs no chemical fertilisers to grow strong and healthy, just soil and water. Our hemp grows in the regions of Bajura, Ropa and Rukum, where the local community has been cultivating and developing hemp textiles for centuries. Our collaboration involves the preservation of the natural ecosystems of the area and the cultural heritage of our partners, threatened by the arrival of faster and cheaper materials and textile techniques due to the massive globalisation of the textile industry.
