Conscious consumption is when buying practices are driven by a commitment to making purchasing decisions that have positive social, economic, and environmental impact.
A conscious consumer is someone who looks beyond the label and want to know more about the company from which they are buying their products. When you purchase something from a company, you are, essentially, funding a company to continue doing what they’re doing.
When you opt to be a conscious consumer, you are putting yourself in the driver’s seat of making a decision for which brand(s) you choose to support.

The definition of zero waste according to the Zero Waste International Alliance (ZWIA) is:
"The conservation of all resources by means of responsible production, consumption, reuse, and recovery of products, packaging, and materials without burning and with no discharges to land, water, or air that threaten the environment or human health.”
It examines the entire lifecycle of a product or material, highlighting inefficiencies and unsustainable production and consumption practices. Zero waste refers not only to keeping waste out of landfill, but also pushing our economy to be less wasteful in production and consumption.
